I’m a Midwest born, Los Angeles based cinematographer with a love for storytelling.
Over the past decade I’ve had the privilege of working on feature films, television, branded content and music videos. I’m always aiming to elevate the story while staying true to its soul.
I love blending modern tools with classic techniques, and I’m always looking for new ways to challenge myself visually.
To me, cinematography feels a lot like cooking. Every frame is a dish, built from layers of texture, temperature, color, and timing. You start with raw ingredients - a location, a script, a performance. With the right technique, you turn it into something beautiful, something that leaves a lasting impression. Like a great chef, a cinematographer needs intuition, discipline, and a deep respect for process. (And a few secret ingredients to add their signature flavor.)
Music is another influence on how I shoot. The pacing of a camera move, the way a scene breathes or holds tension. It all has a rhythm. Some shots are jazz - spontaneous and fluid, while others are more like classical compositions, carefully structured and intentional. I try to let the emotion of a scene guide the tempo.
Outside of commissioned work, I’m constantly experimenting, shooting passion projects, testing lenses, or just observing how light behaves in everyday spaces. That obsession curiosity is what keeps me inspired and sharp.
If my work resonates with you, let’s connect - whether it’s for a project, or just to talk film, food, or music.

Taylen
